Next up for IPC: RVera’s budget

The Iberia Parish Council will elect officers and reappoint several board members to new terms at their meeting Wednesday,as the terms on a number of boards throughout the parish expired at the end of 2017. 

The board will elect officers for chair and vice chair of the board. 

In other appointments: 

A resolution ratifying the appointment of Benny Menard to the 16th Judicial District Children and Youth Planning Board for a two year term will be introduced. Menard’s term on that board expired on Dec. 31. 

A similar resolution ratifying the appointment of Menard to the Iberia Economic Development Authority for a three-year term will be introduced. Menard’s current position on that board expired on Dec. 31. 

Resolutions appointing Stanley Small, Judge Trey Haik and Darlene French, whose terms on the 16th Judicial District Children and Youth Planning Board expired on Dec. 31, will be introduced. Those terms run for two years.

A resolution appointing Dr. Kurt O’Brien to the Iberia Parish Hospital Service District No. 1 Board for a four-year term will be introduced. His previous term expired Dec. 27.

In other business, Iberia Parish President Larry Richard will present congratulatory certificates to Catholic High School football players for their victory in the Division III state championship game in New Orleans in December.
