The Iberia Parish School Board will meet Wednesday for its regular bi-monthly meeting where bond construction projects and budget revisions will dominate the agenda.

The meeting is scheduled to open with four presentations.

One from Lana Cline on school safety, another from Larry Rader who will announce his candidacy for the 3rd Congressional District, Cindy Landry will give a presentation regarding this year’s Special Olympics, and the monthly sales tax reports will be given.

Agenda items will include several progress payments being made on school improvements related to the 2013 bond issue. Progress payments will be up for approval for the new pavilion at Remy Landry Park, renovations at Anderson Middle and the new elementary school being built in the parish.

Iberia Parish School Board, Business and Operations Manager Robert Norris said things are progressing with school improvements better than planned.

“We are ahead of schedule, everything looks very promising. The main project is the new school Belle Place Elementary off of Loreauville Rd and the completion date for that is next summer and it’s going according to schedule,” Norris said.

Norris is scheduled to give a Capital Projects Progress Report and a partial payment and final payment is up for approval at Pesson & St. Charles renovations and upgrade.

Also on the agenda are budget revisions for the General Fund, Title I, and Federal Fund accounts.

The IPSB is set to meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21st in the boardroom at the administrative office on 1500 Jane Street.
