Renovations to the second floor of the Iberia Parish Courthouse are nearing completion.

The Iberia Parish Council is set to designate the project as substantially project. The project included renovations to the lobby area of the building’s courtrooms, such as refurbishing logos and upgrading the area’s walls and ceilings.

The project began in September and was started along with pressure washing to the building’s exterior. That project is done as well.

Iberia Parish President Larry Richard said more work will be expected for the courtrooms themselves, as well as a new logo in the lobby featuring the scales of justice and the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s symbol.

The project was done by Kern Construction, with Architects Design Studio as the architect for the project.
