A public hearing of the Iberia Parish Council in Iberia Parish will be held at its regular meeting place in the Council Chambers located on the fourth Floor of the Main Court Building, 300 Iberia Street, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum.
The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $11,518,018, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $509,111.

I respectfully submit rejection of proposed action by the IPC and submit a counter resolution that there be a decrease in millage of double the proposed increase and further more that any and all taxation considerations shall and must be submitted to property owners on the ballot consistant with a general election cycle not some contrived spaced “still of the night” defacto manneuver used by out of control governments.
The harsh reality is that we are at a tipping point of governments out of control led by mattoids who are commiitted to grow government not serve with interposition to protect. The evidence is clearly exposed by the recent insanity of the federal omnibus spending legislation and state and local out of control spending.
We as a nation, state, local governments must face the reality that no government can survive when the people who vote for a living outnumber the ones who work for a living.
Taxation without representation … sound familiar?
