Trailer park issue on agenda

The Iberia Parish Council will vote on a resolution authorizing the Iberia Parish president to execute a cooperative endeavor agreement for non-emergency mutual aid and assistance between Iberia Parish Government and the Twin Parish Port Commission at Wednesday’s meeting.

The resolution is similar to previous resolutions made by IPG and local municipalities for non-emergency aid. The agreement allows for the port and IPG to assist each other with projects.

The council will vote on another cooperative endeavor agreement between IPS and Hospital District No. 1 relative to emergency commitment transports as well. That agreement has the option of going into executive session, according to the agenda.

A resolution approving the issuance of a $3 million sewer revenue bond for Iberia Parish Sewerage District No. 1 will also be approved by the council. The district will hold a public hearing on May 22 regarding the matter, with final IPC approval scheduled for May 23.

The council will vote to approve a resolution amending the 2018 Rabies Control Fund Budget in the amount of $17,250 to provide for expenditure funding associated with the execution of an intergovernmental agreement with the city of New Iberia for services to be funded with partial year of agreement revenues.

Another resolution regarding the city of New Iberia will amend the 2018 Royalty Fund Budget in the amount of $7,709 to carry over project funding for Armenco Drainage Project, which is shared between the city and parish for remaining costs.

Several budgetary items for the Acadiana Regional Airport will also be on tap. The council will vote on a resolution adjusting the ARA budget for $98,386 to correct funding for a DOTD grant carryover for the runway rehab project; $654,667 to budget for a new grant for hangar 88; $26,000 to provide for a transfer for funding of utilities and $15,000 in order to continue administrative professional services with the current interim director.

The council also will approve publication of the millage rates for the new fiscal year. The amount that can be levied was decided at the last finance committee meeting, and discussion to set the rates begins next month.

The meeting takes place 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Iberia Parish Courthouse’s Council Chambers.
