IPC to vote on reimbursement

The Iberia Parish Council will vote to approve $75,000 to reimburse the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office for emergency patient transports at Wednesday’s regular meeting.
The resolution will provide funding to resolve disputed reimbursements to the IPSO, and will include all transports from Dec. 31, 2017. The item is to be funded through the General Health Fund’s fund balance.

The council also will vote to approve staff members to attend a conference later this month.
According to the agenda, the resolution is to authorize travel for the IPC staff to attend the annual Region 3 Police Jury Association meeting being held in Napoleonville Aug. 16.
During the IPC’s executive committee meeting, the council will discuss an ordinance revision to require all parish boards and commissions to provide notice of their meetings on the Iberia Parish Government website (at least 48 hours prior to the meeting) and publish their agenda on the website.
The finance committee will discuss requesting the IPG administration to obtain cost proposals for starting a “Your Iberia Parish Government Checkbook” to be available on the website as well.
The finance committee also will discuss a resolution to amend the 2018 Economic Development District No. 1 fund budget to provide funding for an engineering study of the Waterworks District No. 3 service areas. The study is projected to cost $50,000.
The resolution would fund the project from previously dedicated funding for the Louisiana 14 sewerage project, and with the funding to be repaid if the district is successful in receiving grant funding from the USDA.
