Who will get nod for IPC D2 seat?

The Iberia Parish Council will vote at Wednesday’s meeting to approve a cooperative endeavor agreement between Iberia Parish Government and the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. 

The agreement is designed to establish, operate and maintain a court-approved Community Service Litter Abatement and Collection Program in Iberia Parish. 

The council also will vote to approve to amend the 2018 Economic Development District No. 1 fund budget in the amount of $50,000 to provide funding for an engineering study of the Waterworks District No. 3 service area. 

Plans call for the study to be funded through previously dedicated funding for the Louisiana 14 Sewerage Project. The money also is to be repaid if the district is successful in receiving a grant from the USDA. 

Other funding items includes budgeting $18,750 in the Iberia Parish Parks and Recreation fund to account for additional revenue, as well as amending the 2018 Airport Authority Fund Budget in the amount of $58,035 to provide for carryover appropriations for runway 16/34 improvements project, all to be funded from federal and state grant funding.

Another agenda item will amend the 2018 Tourist Commission Fund Budget in the amount of $150,000 to provide for publicity purchases to be funded with BP grant funding that parish government has received. 

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Iberia Parish Courthouse.
