Iberia voters cast 634 ballots Monday

Early voting continued Monday with local residents from Iberia, St. Martin and St. Mary parishes all turning out to vote in the Teche Area for the Nov. 6 election. 

In Iberia Parish, there was a total of 634 early votes Monday. Six-hundred and four of those were residents who showed up in person to vote, and four were sent in through the mail or hand delivered. 

St. Martin Parish had a total of 547 early votes Monday. Of those, there were 527 early votes in-person and 20 that were sent in through mail. 

St. Mary Parish meanwhile had a total of 686 votes cast on Monday, Of those, 669 were cast in person while only 17 were sent in via the mail. 

The final chance to vote early for the election is today. Residents can show up at the Iberia, St. Martin or St. Mary Registrar of Voters’ offices to early vote between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
