Update: Early voting continues in Teche Area

Early voting in Iberia, St. Martin and St. Mary parishes continued on Wednesday with more local residents turning out to vote for the Dec. 8 election. 

Iberia Parish saw a total of 341 early votes Wednesday. Of those, there were 252 in-person votes and 89 mail votes.

St. Mary Parish, which also includes a sheriff’s race and coroner’s race, had a total of 446 early votes Wednesday. There were 446 in-person votes and 69 votes through the mail. 

St. Martin Parish voters also turned out to vote on the Secretary of State race, as well as a District 3 seat for the St. Martin Parish School Board. 

The parish ended the first four days of early voting with 350 votes total. There were 252 in-person votes and 98 votes through the mail on Wednesday.

Early voting, which began this past Saturday, continues through Saturday. 

To vote, go to your local registrar of voters office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
