Bishop Douglas Deshotel will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for the Unclaimed on Thursday, Nov. 2 (All Souls’ Day), at 5:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette.

Men, women, and children from Lafayette Parish who have died over the past year, and whose bodies have gone unclaimed will be laid to rest. This Corporal Work of Mercy is the result of a partnership between St. John’s Cathedral and Catholic Charities of Acadiana.

The Mass honors the dignity of human life, acknowledging that no one is ever forgotten in Christ. The public is invited to attend. The Mass will be streamed live on Facebook.
