LOUISIANA’S FREE FISHING WEEKEND
When: Saturday, June 8, 2024 and Sunday, June 9, 2024
Where: Louisiana
What: The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) invites you to take part in its annual Free Fishing Weekend. Louisiana’s Free Fishing Weekend allows residents and visitors to fish Louisiana waters without an otherwise required fishing license.
WISHING JAR
When: Friday, June 7, 2024 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: Parkview Branch Library
What: Ages 12-16 can learn how to make origami stars and decorate a wishing jar to store them in. Call any branch of the Iberia Parish Library or visit iberia.evanced.info/signup to register.
GEAUX PADDLE YOUTH WORKSHOP
When: Saturday, June 8, 2024 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: New Iberia City Park, 300 Parkview Dr.
What: The Teche Project’s Geaux Paddle recreation program is offering paddling opportunities for kids ages 10-14 on Bayou Teche and will include safety instruction, an experiment on water testing, paddle to New Iberia City Park and an art project with Margaret Simon. Advance registration on Eventbrite is required. Kayaks/canoes, lifejackets and drinks will be provided. Participants must bring their own lunch in a waterproof container.
