The end of Thanksgiving will lead straight into the Christmas season in Loreauville, where the Loreauville Community Project will be putting on the annual Christmas in the Village celebration Nov. 30.
The event takes place at Loreauville Park on Ed Broussard Road, which will be open for visitors from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in order for the village to light up the community Christmas tree and enjoy games, food, drinks and music.
A special performance from the Loreauville High School band, Tigerettes and cheerleaders will be part of the fun.
The event culminates in the lighting of the Christmas tree at Loreauville Park. Although the event usually takes place in downtown Loreauville, the construction of a new town hall has been ongoing for months. The location at Loreauville Park will instead bring the Christmas festivities a bit further from Main Street, but will still contain all of the amenities and events that Christmas in the Park always brings to Loreauville.
Shopping, roasted marshmallows and even pictures with Santa Claus for the kids will open up the holiday season in the village as part of the festivities. The event is free to the public and put on by the Loreauville Community Project which puts on community events in the village throughout the year.
