Acadiana mourned the death of 16th Judicial District Attorney Bo Duhe Wednesday, when the funeral services for Duhe were held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
The respect and influence Duhe had in the local community was palpable as New Iberia Police and the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office worked to close off portions of streets Tuesday afternoon in order for the funeral procession to make its way to its final destination at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The funeral started at Pellerin Home Funeral and then moved to St. Peter’s Catholic Church for an hour long service that was open to the public. Family and friends of Duhe then made their way to the cemetery for final burial.
Duhe served as district attorney for the 16th Judicial District since 2015, and died on March 15. Along with his years of service in the position, Duhe was also remembered by many in the community for his philanthropy, community service and the many relationships he maintained in the Teche Area.
