Softball and baseball arrive

oftball and baseball got underway Saturday for Teche Area high school teams with jamborees played around the area.

The Iberia Parish Softball Jamboree was held at Delcambre’s Remy Landry Park with seven parish teams plus West St. Mary taking part. Iberia Parish teams playing included Delcambre, Jeanerette, Loreauville, Catholic High, Highland Baptist, Westgate and New Iberia Senior High.

Centerville and Franklin played in Patterson’s jamboree.

The Iberia Parish Baseball Jamboree featured Jeanerette, Highland Baptist, Delcambre, Loreauville, Westgate, Catholic High and New Iberia and was played at St. Julien Park in Broussard.

The regular season begins this week for both baseball and softball teams.
