Uniform starting time for meetings — after 6 — to be voted on by IPC

The Iberia Parish Council will vote to change the time for meetings for all future of the parish’s board and commissions at Wednesday’s meeting. 

If approved, the ordinance will require all boards and commissions to establish regular meeting times after 6 p.m. in order to allow the public the opportunity to attend public meetings. 

In other business, the council will vote on a resolution authorizing the payment of registration and lodging expenses for up to six members of the IPC to attend the 2019 Police Jury Association of Louisiana Annual Conference to be held Feb. 13-15, 2019 in Lake Charles. 

Finally, the council will vote on a resolution amending the 2018 Airport Authority Fund Budget in the amount of $145,428 to appropriate professional services funding for the ARFF Station Site Selection and Feasibility Study, all to be provided by federal and state grant funding.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Iberia Parish Courthouse.
