TURNING THE TIDE EDUCATIONAL GUIDE NOW AVAILABLE FROM LOUISIANA PUBLIC BROADCASTING

In conjunction with LPB’s award-winning coastal documentary Turning The Tide, a free online teacher’s guide is now available online at lpb.org./turning the tide.

The documentary presents an in depth examination of proposed solutions, proven strategies and bold engineering that can “turn the tide” on the national crisis unfolding at the mouth of America’s largest and most productive river delta. In addition to looking at current Louisiana efforts to preserve the rapidly disappearing Louisiana coastline, It also examines what is being done in other parts of the world, like the Netherlands, to halt erosion.

The educational guide features lessons in Economics, Math, Science, English, Social Studies, Art and Geography and is aligned to state and national standards. It was produced in collaboration with the state’s top environmental educators with funding from The McKnight Foundation.
