Happy haunts in the Teche Area

The Teche Area is set for Halloween, with trick-or-treating times announced across Iberia, St. Martin and St. Mary parishes, as well as several events happening in the next few days.
Iberia and St. Martin parishes have all scheduled trick or treat times from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. New Iberia, Jeanerette, Delcambre, Loreauville, St. Martinville, Franklin, Charenton and Baldwin were confirmed to have the same time frame, according to representatives from each municipality.

Blessing New Iberia will have its second annual Harvest Festival on Saturday at New Iberia City Park. Events include trick-or-treating, costume
contests, vendors, Halloween games for kids, Halloween bingo and a photo booth.
The Rochon Quarters neighborhood has slated its second annual Community Halloween Party at 2 p.m. Saturday. The event will be held at 114 Sojourner Road in New Iberia, with a hay ride to follow.
The Church Carnival “Trick-My-Trunk” will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Highland Baptist Christian School gym parking lot. The event will have food and lots of candy.
The St. Mary Landmark Society has scheduled a historic cemetery tour from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be a haunted house at the Broussard-Harris Recreation Center in Franklin from 6 to 8 p.m., as well as a haunted house at the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.
Also, the Harvest Moon Festival in Franklin kicks off this Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Events at the festival include a 5K run, car show, children’s train ride, mutt strutt and dog costume contest, vintage photo booth, vendors, presentations from the Teche Grower’s Alliance and state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and several musical performances.
