IPC to call for election for JP in Ward 3

The Iberia Parish Council will vote at Wednesday’s meeting to call for an election on Nov. 6 for Justice of the Peace in Ward 3 Loreauville.
The election comes with the resignation of Benjamin Hoffpauir, who will resign effective July 1. The council also will approve the opening of applications to fill the position in an interim capacity until a new justice is sworn in.

The council will vote to approve amending the 2018 Sewerage District No. 1 Fund Budget in the amount of $3 million to accept loan funds and expenditures in accordance with a DEQ loan application, all to be funded with DEQ loan proceeds.
The council also will vote on a resolution granting authority to the Iberia Parish President to sign
and submit all necessary documents along with adopting certain policies, plans and procedures in connection with the 2018 Community Development Block Grant program for sewer system improvements.
The meeting takes place 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Iberia Parish Courthouse.
