Turkey Trot 5K run and walk scheduled Nov. 27

Iberia Parish JAG students and The Diabetic Kitchen are teaming up for the first JAG Turkey Trot 5K run, walk, talk and food drive to collect food donations for those in need.
Entrance fee for the Turkey Trot is five non-perishable food items such as canned goods, rice, beans, flour, breakfast cereal or oatmeal, etc. Vendors are asked to ccontribute 20 items.

The 5K will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, at City Park in New Iberia. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the walk/run at 8:14 a.m.
Games, exercises and other fun, enjoyment and healthy refreshments will be on hand, said Nathaniel Mitchell Sr. of The Diabetic Kitchen.
Students from the Jobs for America’s Graduates programs at New Iberia Senior High School, Westgate High School, Anderson Middle School, Iberia Middle School at Belle Place Middle School are participating in the food drive and will deliver the food items collected to families in need during December’s Christmas holidays.
