Three Iberia Parish men arrested in Calcasieu Parish on drug & weapons charges

Three Iberia Parish residents were arrested by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office on a variety of drug and weapons charges.

Rashid Jamal Hamilton, 25, of New Iberia and Royce Joseph Morris, 26, and Javontrae Jakil Richard, 23, both of Jeanerette, were arrested by the CPSO, according to arrest reports published on Sunday.

Hamilton and Morris both were arrested on charges of sale, distribution or possession of legend drug without prescription or order prohibited; drug possession; illegal carrying of weapons during commission of a crime or in presence of CDS; attempt and conspiracy; and use of multiple beam road lighting equipment

Richard was arrested on charges of sale, distribution or possession of legend drug without prescription or order prohibited; drug possession; illegal carrying of weapons during commission of a crime or in presence of CDS; possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies.
