Iberia Parish schools, state offices to close Wednesday

Due to the threat of heavy rainfall, damaging wind gusts and hail during the morning hours extending throughout the day, all Iberia Parish schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Severe weather is expected to subside in the afternoon hours. Therefore, the school board meeting set for 5:30 p.m. will proceed as planned, according to a prepared statement from Superintendent of Schools Heath Hulin.

The governor’s office has just announced that state offices in 12 parishes (inclusive of Lafayette and St. Martin) will be closed today due to forecast weather conditions.

The full list of parish state office closures are Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Lafayette, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. Landry, St. Martin, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.
